Here is another handling video about my big female Brachypelma annitha. I’ve handled at least 14 tarantula species, including small Poecilotheria fasciata, regalis, metallica, Ceratogyrus marshalli, Acanthoscurria geniculata, Grammostola rosea, pulchra, Monocentropus balfouri, lambertoni, Brachypelma verdezi, klaasi, annitha, A. chalcodes, Avicularia versicolor. Some of them just once and some of them twice or more.
This species looks like B. smithi, but there are several differences, one of them is the carapace’s colour, also colour of knees are different and B. annitha (Mexican Giant Red knee) is bigger than B. smithi (Mexican Red knee). B. smithi has black carapace, B. annitha has orange or red carapace, there’s not so much black colour. Both species are quite docile, as a form of defence they kick hairs but they will not bite you, they will not even display a threat pose. This species is suitable for begginers and if you know what you’re doing it’s able to handle them without any problems. I often work with 30 cm long tweezers, it’s useful especially if I work or rehouse fast species (Poecilotheria, Chilobrachys, Pterinochilus and so on).
Music was composed by me, I have a digital piano Yamaha NP-V80 piaggero. I work with the following software: Audacity, Sony Vegas Pro 13, Magix Music Maker 2014. I've been playing on the piano since July 2012.
