For this video, I reviewed the Cast Chain by Hanayama. This is rated as a Grandmaster puzzle, i.e. 6 out 6 stars, the highest difficulty among Hanayama's metal cast puzzle.
At first glance, this puzzle looks sooooo cool. The metallic black finish, the simple 3 part chain design. Again, when you hold the puzzle in your hands, you can just feel it oozes with quality. It is so sturdy it feels virtually unbreakable!
The solution to the puzzle is very elegant, and once you understand the mechanism, the execution is effortless (almost). However, reaching to that stage may take a while! I can foresee that some people can spot the solution very soon, yet some will take a long time just to understand how to manipulate the pieces! No spoilers!
So to summarize, a great puzzle, looks great, feels great, handles great, and very satisfying once solved. Highly recommended.
