Product Info: Accentuate, from Play Monster, is a team-game for 4-or-more players, ages 12+. The game comes with 250 double-sided Quote Cards, 120 Accent Cards, 4 Accent Lists, a Sand Timer, a die, and instructions. The object of the game is to read movie quotes, in one of 30 different accents. The accents include jobs and personalities like Surfer Dude, Drama Queen and Newscaster; as well as ones from around the world like Jamaican, French or New York. This might get interesting. Pick teams, roll the die and start playing. The die allows you to swap accent cards, pass to another player, bring in both teams for an all-play - or the die might tell you that you have to play this round without any changes. Pick a quote card and read it out loud, without any accent, other than your own. Then pick an accent card, flip the timer and read that quote with that accent. Your teammates must now guess your accent before the timer runs. You can repeat the quote and your teammates can guess as many times as they want. If they guess right, you get one point, so have some paper and pencils handy. Then, your teammates have a chance to guess the film, who said it, the year and the director. Gain one more point for any correct answers. I added my own variant of limiting the amount of guesses to 1, 2 or 3 per turn. But otherwise, this game is fun, and silly, but it's not for everyone. Some people will be offended but hopefully their offense is based mostly on your terrible job with accents. The movie trivia is a fun addition, and draws from a broad range of cinema. Like all good party games, its less about the winning and more about the laughs.
