Ramón Salazar (ラモン・サラザール Ramon Sarazāru) was a Spanish nobleman from Valdelobos. A descendent of the 15th century noble warrior, Salazar, Ramón Salazar inherited the position of castellano alongside his peerage, a duty more important to the family than the peerage itself. As the 21st century came about, Salazar left his Catholic faith behind and converted to Los Iluminados, a cult led by Osmund Saddler, who had access to bioweapons research and was interested in Las Plagas. Although his diminutive stature resembled that of a ten-year-old, and his grey hair and wrinkled face gave him the appearance of an elderly man, he was only 20 years old.

In 2004, Salazar became part of an international plot by Saddler to infiltrate the US federal government. President Graham's daughter, Ashley, was to be abducted by Jack Krauser, implanted with a Plaga parasite and, upon her return to the United States, implant the President and other high-ranking American officials with Plaga eggs. The kidnapping plot succeeded, and US agent Leon S. Kennedy was sent in to rescue her. Although Leon managed to find Ashley, they were soon forced to seek shelter in Salazar's castle.

-Salazar doesn't wear a hat in the remake.
-Salazar and Leon dialogue has more lines.
-Salazar compliments Leon for not handing over Ashley.
-Salazar slightly explains Saddler's goal.
-After the cutscene you have to fight some of the Illuminados.

Resident Evil 4 is a survival horror game developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and published by Capcom for the GameCube in 2005. Players control special agent Leon S. Kennedy who is on a mission to rescue the US president's daughter, Ashley Graham, who has been kidnapped by a religious cult in rural Spain. Leon fights hordes of enemies infected by a mind-controlling parasite and reunites with the spy Ada Wong. In a departure from the fixed camera angles and slower gameplay of previous Resident Evil games, Resident Evil 4 features a dynamic camera system and action-oriented gameplay.
Development on Resident Evil 4 began for the PlayStation 2 in 1999. Four proposed versions were discarded; the first attempt was directed by Hideki Kamiya, but series creator Shinji Mikami felt it strayed too far from the series roots, so it was spun-off as Devil May Cry (2001) at his recommendation. Other versions were scrapped until Mikami took directorial duties for what became the final version. The game was originally announced as part of the Capcom Five, a collaboration between Capcom and Nintendo to create five GameCube exclusives to boost hardware sales and demonstrate third-party support.

Resident Evil 4 garnered acclaim for its story, gameplay, graphics, voice acting, and characters, and is often named one of the best video games, winning multiple Game of the Year awards in 2005. It was ported to numerous formats, and became a cross-platform hit, selling more than 11 million copies. It influenced the evolution of the survival horror and third-person genres, popularizing the "over-the-shoulder" third-person view used in games such as Dead Space and The Last of Us. A remake of Resident Evil 4 is set for release in 2023.
