The 1998 Giro d'Italia was the 81st edition of the Giro d'Italia. It is known for beeing Marco Pantani' first grand tour win. In 1998 Pantani was on fire and won the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France back to back.
After four years of bad luck, Marco Pantani again shows who is the best mountain climber of all time. Its gonna be a big fight with Tonkov, Alex Zülle and Giuseppe Guerini for the pink jersey.
