Millions of letters are written each year to Santa, and some are gone answered. Rina and her team help Santa out by collecting used toys and recycling them into like-new ones and then hand-delivering the toys to children in extreme poverty that had written Santa, but Santa could not visit on Christmas.
In 2018, Rina visited San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico, to deliver toys to children that have never had a toy on Christmas. She had five days to get these sacks of toys to children, specifically children who never got a Christmas toy before. She had five days before she had to go back home to California, USA.
As usual, she started looking for children in areas in the countryside with the greatest need. The locals told her that the children living in extreme poverty lived in villages up in the mountains. She had to figure out how to get the toys up the hills to the children, A big sack of toys, and move it high up in the mountain.
She needs some help. She asked the locals who can speak the native language for a guide and help carry the toys' sacks to the children up the mountain.
So that is when she realized lugging the sacks of toys up the mountain wasn't our biggest problem. No one could help her move the toys closer to the children. They could not go up there because armed rebels are patrolling up there.
