We are discussing 9/11, the terror attack that changed the world, and changed all over lives. We go to New York where François Picard is covering on the ground the 20th anniversary of the atrocity that claimed some 3,000 lives.
The trial opened this week of the surviving and alleged members of the terror cell that attacked Paris in Novermber 2015. 130 people were killed. Surivivors and bereaved families have been subjected to the pontifications in the dock of Salah Abdeslam. The prime suspect, self-confessed soldier of the Islamic State group, a suicide bomber who disgarded his deadly vest undetonated on that fateful night and was hunted down to Brussels four months later.
France and the world of cinéma said adieu this week to Jean-Paul Belmondo, the legendary actor, star of over 80 movies, passed away at the age of 88. Emmanuel Macron, a big fan, described him as "one of us." Belmondo really burst onto the scene in the 1960 film by Jean-Luc Godard: "A Bout de Souffle" or "Breathless".
