The Nazi Party was responsible for the organised looting of occupied European countries throughout the 1930s and 1940s.
Countless pieces of art were stolen, in what is now known as ‘Nazi plunder’.
But when the Allies started bombing Germany during World War Two, Hitler hid a vast collection of the looted masterpieces underground in an Austrian salt mine.
