Saul Kripke was Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and emeritus professor at Princeton University. He wrote enormously influential papers and books. "Naming and Necessity" and "Wittgenstein on Rules and Private Language" are among the key works in modern analytic philosophy.
