Giampaolo got his first gig with Paul Young and in 1997 they recorded four songs for the BBC. In this studio session he had the pleasure of playing with UKs top session players including Pino Palladino, Jason Rebello, and Maysa Leak. During his time with Paul Young he met producer Trevor Horn (Seal) who recommend him for a tour with Dez Ree. Another important meeting was with the producer-manager Ken Watts (George Michael/Zucchero) who lead the way for the Tom Jones gig in 1999. From this point, Giampaolo became one of the most in demand session drummers in London working with producer Jack Guy (AC/DC) as the house drummer at the Sphere Studio, and with producer Dave Stuart (Eurythmics) for artist Muddy Cooper.
Other sessions include Emma Bunton (Spice Girls), Still, Mica Paris, Groove Armada, Curiosity Killed The Cat, Negrocan, Osibiza.
On the Eve of 2000, Giampaolo received a call from legendary jazz saxophonist Trevor Watts who took him on board for both the Moire Music Trio and The Celebration Band. This collaboration opened the doors to the biggest jazz festivals worldwide. Not surprisingly, the album Trevor Watts and the Celebration Band became the best jazz album in UK, in 2003.
