Günter Kallmann studied music in his hometown of Berlin, Germany, and worked as a trumpeter in various big bands. In 1961 he founded the Günter Kallmann Choir in Cologne. Their first recording was the Elisabeth Serenade which brought them worldwide success. The choir went on to record 35 LPs, including eight gold records, and several international tours, including England, the USA, Canada and South Africa (in 1966).
