Emotionally abusive relationships impact physical health, at times more significantly than the obvious wounds and scars of physical abuse. Chronic emotional stress can lead to serious health conditions including but not limited to cancer, hypertension, heart disease, and auto-immune disorders. Stop and ask yourself how your health today compares to the condition of your health a year ago. If you are in a toxic relationship or have not fully recovered from a toxic relationship with an ex your health is likely suffering. The great news is that you have the power to make change no matter what anyone else says or does...including your abuser!
