Selling England by the pound is Genesis 5th full length album released in 1973. Even though this isn't my favourite Genesis record, you can't deny that this is the band at their absolute peak. The band always had a perfect balance of melodic pop sensibility with technical prowess. They are my favourite progressive rock band.

This is also both my favourite Genesis song and Favourite Steve Hackett Solo. I love everything about it. It has early shred techniques like Tapping and sweep picking multiple years in advance. It has also has a lot creative uses of the volume pedal and the octave pedal. This solo feels like it's own separate piece of composed music.
