Despite instability in east Asia's markets, the world's largest ever circular cut, D-flawless diamond sold at auction in Hong Kong for HK$ 14.32 million (US$ 1.86 million). The price soared well above the pre-sale estimate of HK $10 million after frenzied bidding at Christie's, Hong Kong on Tuesday (4/11).
The diamond was part of a western-style collection which also featured an exotic selection of jade, including necklaces, brooches and rings.
