Once up on a time, there was an awesome wrestling promotion known as the American Wrestling Association. Centered in Minneapolis Minnesota, and led by two of wrestlings greatest minds,Wally Karbo and Verne Gagne. Originally the Minneapolis territory of the National Wrestling Alliance, the then governing body of professional wrestling, the AWA would break away from the NWA after the NWA refused to crown Verne Gagne as world champion. Going with Pat O Connor instead, Now independent of a governing body, Gagne and Karbo went on to create the AWA World Heavy weight championship. And then the fun began.
