The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has a wide range of resources that can support registered nurses working in social care to meet the new standards of proficiency from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). This webinar informs nurses about the resources and focuses on two platforms of particular relevance to person-centred care: platform 3 assessing needs and planning care, and platform 5 leading and managing nursing care and working in teams.
It covers:
• An overview of the NMC standards of proficiency and the range of related NICE resources.
• Focused discussion of platforms 3 and 5 – we will highlight specific recommendations and resources from NICE guidelines that can support evidence-based nursing practice.
• An overview of the recent Skills for Care statement describing the role, knowledge, and skills of registered nurses working in the adult social care sector in England – we will highlight how NICE recommendations and resources can be used to upskill nurses through training, supervision, assessment, and return to practice support.
