A basic knowledge of performing a pediatric ECHO is always a bonus to any pediatrician dealing with new-borns. With a basic knowledge, one might not be able to make complex diagnoses but at least can screen and rule out any abnormalities. It comes as a handy tool to rule out a congenital heart disease and do timely interventions or referrals where indicated.
