Showcasing the distribution of stellar streams (stellar orbital structures formed by tidal disruption of of a small galaxy or a star cluster ) in the halo of the Milky Way galaxy, presented here in Cartesian coordinate system. The red star at (X,Y,Z)=(0,0,0) is the center of the galaxy and the orange dot at ~8 kpc from the center marks the Sun's position in the galaxy. Data points (the stars here are colored according to their heliocentric distances). This animation was made using matplotlib in python, by making use of the GALSTREAMS package ([ Ссылка ]) mentioned in the paper Mateu et al 2017 ([ Ссылка ]).
