Dubu Jorim / Braised Tofu in All-Purpose Soy Sauce
Ingredients
Tofu (firm) 450g
Vegetable oil 4 tblsp
Green onion 2 stalks
All-Purpose Soy Sauce
Minced Beef 300g
Soy sauce 2 c
Rice wine 3 tblsp
Brown sugar 1 tblsp
Vegetable oil 1 tsp
Instructions
1. Make All-Purpose Soy Sauce. Heat the pot and add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil. Add minced beef, 3 tablespoons of rice wine and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and stir fry them
2. When beef is almost cooked add dark soy sauce and bring to a boil
3. Prepare tofu. Drain and pat dry and slice in 2 cm x 4cm sizes. Chop 2 stalks of green onion for garnish
4. Heat the pan and add 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Pan fry both sides of tofu. You may add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil if tofu looks too dry. Set them aside in a plate
5. In a pot add 7 tablespoons of All-Purpose Soy Sauce and bring to a boil. Add pan fried tofu to the sauce and toss them.
6. Serve as a side dish (banchan) with cooked rice
