Your 6 p.m. Northeast Ohio weather forecast for April 4, 2024: Scattered rain and snow showers will continue to move in to close out the week. Light accumulations are possible tonight as the sun sets (mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces). Going into Friday, the same storm system will keep the clouds and rain and snow mix persisting. It will be chilly and breezy at times, with afternoon temperatures struggling to reach the low 40s.
We begin to turn the tide this weekend with clouds and lingering rain and snow showers persisting into early Saturday, giving way to some late-day clearing. Afternoon temperatures will still be chilly in the 40s. We'll recover even further on Sunday, with high temperatures pushing into the mid to upper 50s.
The push of warmer temperatures on Sunday will be associated with a warm front. Latest model runs still develop a chance of showers early Monday before daybreak. Clouds are expected in the area leading up to the eclipse on Monday afternoon, with high-level cloud cover likely around 3 PM, allowing for filtered sunshine as the moon becomes visible. As of now, models have been consistent in keeping some clouds in the area, but brief pockets of clearing will be mixed in too.
