On February 14, 2019 (Valentine’s Day), my wife and I attended a members preview of the “Bouguereau & America” exhibit at the Milwaukee Art Museum, which runs from February 15 - May 12, 2019. Here’s a look at some of what we saw.
If you’re an artist or lover of 19th Century French art, this is a must-see show. Hop on a plane, jump in a car, do what you have to do to come see this show because there may never be another show like this again. The exhibit features over forty paintings by French academic painter William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905).

I am not affiliated with the Milwaukee Art Museum. My wife and I put this video together to share our experience with you and promote the museum that I have been visiting since I was a child. I have very fond memories of the Milwaukee Art Museum and would love as many people as possible to see the incredible collection of art they have. If you can’t visit the Milwaukee Art Museum, please visit and support your local art museums.
Thank you Milwaukee Art Museum and Memphis Brooks Museum of Art for making “Bouguereau & America” a reality.
Sincerely,
Jeff Miracola
