Baudouin I, eldest son of King Leopold III and Queen Astrid of the Belgians, born 7 September 1930, he became King of the Belgians upon his father's abdication in 1951. He reigned until his death on 31 July 1993 after which the throne passed to his younger brother King Albert II. A cause for his beatification is currently under investigation by the Catholic Church.
