When we start to think about the nature of supply chains and their management, we ask some very distinctive questions about interorganizational networks of suppliers, producers, customers and partners. Furthermore, we have to take a very different view of economic structures, boundaries and complex systems. Consequently, the philosophical challenges with supply chain management require an awareness of fundamental concepts – in this video we describe these as the ‘noble truths’ of supply chain management. Taking a supply chain perspective requires a different set of lenses, and an understanding of the phenomenon of supply chain operation and behavior.
This video is part of the ‘Supply Chain Thinking’ Series of videos produced and presented by Professor Simon Croom.”
