One Guess Who Played Creepy Teddy Perkins On 'Atlanta'.
As fans of the show have come to realize, expect the unexpected on Atlanta. Last night's episode, "Teddy Perkins," might have given you Get Out flashbacks as the entire story focuses on Lakeith Stanfield's Darius as he visits a strange mansion to pick up a piano, and ends up in the middle of a horror movie.
The episode's title character emerges at the beginning of the show from the shadows like Nosferatu and he only gets creepier as it goes on. Long-haired with pasty white skin, Teddy Perkins seems to have that Michael Jackson pigment disease, or is he a vampire? And it's not just Teddy's looks that frighten. He speaks in a strange, high-pitched drawl that also recalls Jackson. Darius, befuddled by this little guy, proceeds to bond with him over Stevie Wonder.
Teddy lives alone in the mansion with his brother, a famous musician whom we meet later in the episode. Darius thinks the photos on the wall are flame, but all he really wants is the free piano. Teddy, aloof and full of non sequiturs, says he'll show it to him but then proceeds to evade the issue for most of the rest of the show.
