In this #short I discuss some things I noticed about how Americans go out to eat vs. how Danes go out to eat. I knew that dining out in Denmark was different than dining out in America the very first time I went out to eat in Europe - but it really jumped out to me when I moved to Denmark in 2017.

I recorded this right after going out to eat in Denmark with some international friends and they pointed out the "American things" I was doing throughout the meal. American dining culture is definitely different, and after reflecting a little bit on what I do as an American living in Europe, I decided to record this and share it.

Here are just a few things that stood out to me during the meal and some of the biggest differences between America and Denmark when it comes to going out to eat. Most of them are probably true in other places around Europe and the world, since American dining etiquette and restaurant culture are a bit unique.

And disclosure - these are all generalizations about dining culture and nothing about either way of going out to eat is wrong or right, they're just different :)
