The Bachelor's Nick Cummins may have walked off with no women at the end of the series' most controversial run, but it's claimed he wasn't left short on cash. Former Bachelorette Brooke Blurton has told the Shameless in Conversation podcast that the Honey Badger may have pocketed around $525,000 for his time on the show, news.com.au reported. It had originally been speculated that Cummins would have got around $262,000 for opening his heart. However, Blurton revealed "I think it was a bit more, I think it was half mill maybe," she shared with the show's hosts Zara McDonald and Michelle Andrews. Sophie Monk was believed to have been paid $300,000 for her time on the show. There's been no official confirmation from Cummins about the payments. If it is true, it may be some consolation to Cummins. He revealed last year that he had "never been in a mental space as low" as during the filming of The Bachelor Australia. Opening up about his time on the show and his controversial decision not to pick a partner at the end of it, the 31-year-old former rugby star told Australia's The Sunday Project show the hysteria around the show was a "whole 'nother beast" to his former career. "I've been involved in some pretty high pressure situations and some highly-stressed situations with rugby big crowds and the public and the media all scrutinising every move you do on and off the field. I get it, I've lived like that. "But being told you have career ending injuries, spending six months in a wheelchair and another injury where I had to crawl along the ground to get some food out of the fridge – all that stuff doesn't compare to what you have to go through in here [mentally] on something like that [The Bachelor]."
