The DigiPen Vocal Ensemble has been meeting online this semester, but that hasn’t stopped us from singing together. We’re proud to present our first virtual choir performance, “No One Else is Singing My Song”. A tribute to songwriter Adam Schlesinger, who tragically passed from Covid-19 in April 2020, the Vocal Ensemble is taking one of his songs from the musical TV show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and re-contextualizing it for remote choir. Featuring DigiPen students as soloists, choir, and back-up band, we hope this song reminds you that no matter how isolated you may feel in this quarantined semester, you are not alone.
After weeks of online rehearsals, this video was recorded one student at a time, each singing along with a guide track, then edited together by Assistant Professor of Music and Conductor of Choirs Stephen O’Bent.
