Scania and SSAB have committed to decarbonise all steel deliveries for Scania's heavy-duty vehicles in 2030, ramping up green steel deliveries from 2026. This strategic move in our long-standing partnership aims to significantly reduce climate emissions, aligning with Scania's broader 2030 carbon reduction strategy. The ambitious goal sets a precedent within the First Movers Coalition, emphasising both companies' commitment to emissions within hard-to-abate sectors. The decarbonised steel, produced using SSAB's HYBRIT technology, is expected to be a transformative element in achieving a sustainable transport system.
