Manny Pacquiao is back "home", so to speak.
After arriving in Los Angeles over the weekend, the eight-division boxing world champion wasted little time in getting to work for his upcoming title defense against Adrien Broner on January 19th.
The Holiday season did little to slow Pacman down, as he began training on Christmas Eve, at a very familiar training ground.
After opting to hold camp at his real home in General Santos for his last bout against Lucas Matthysse, Pacquiao is back at the world famous Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, owned and operated by none oher than Pacquiao's long-time coach Freddie Roach.
Pacquiao and Roach have confirmed that they will be working together for the Broner fight, but this time around, Pacquiao's best friend Buboy Fernandez will stay on as head coach, while Roach will be serving as a consultant.
Fernandez said Team Pacquiao will be discussing how to go about things, especially with Roach.
Prior to getting work in at Wild Card however, Pacquiao and team began the day by going on a morning jog around the Griffith Observatory, and joining him was his eldest son Jimuel, who says he'll try to keep up with his dad's training all week.
As Manny continues to work throughout the holidays, the Filipino boxing icon has a message to all his fellow Filipinos back home and all over the world.
"Thank you so much. God bless you all praying for more success, and of course unity, and protection to each and everyone of us. Maraming salamat sa inyong magmamahal [at] dasal. Lagi din akong nag-dadasal para sa [inyo]. Maraming salamat, God bless, Merry Christmas and advanced Happy New Year to you all."
Pacquiao will be defending his WBA (Regular) Welterweight World Championship against Broner at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 19th.
