This video was meant to be a YouTube short. For those that want a detailed explanation of what’s going on please read on.

SDR++ was compiled with M17 support on the PinePhone, but it could just as easily been a Pi4 or other system.

The M17 module was enabled under the module manager. I then used an M17 flow graph for gnuradio and a HackRF to transmit audio in the form of a bin file over the air. By moving the M17 line in SDR++ to the center of the transmission I was able to decode the digital audio.

When time permits I’ll do a more detailed video that covers the setup in depth.
