Jim Shooter is a writer and editor of various comic books. He started professionally in the medium at the age of 14, and he is most notable for his successful and controversial run as Marvel Comics' ninth editor-in-chief from 1978 to 1987, and founder of Valiant Comics and Editor-In-Chief from 1989 to 1992. Also founder of Defiant Comics and Broadway Comics. As a writer, he is best known for his work on The Avengers, The Legion of Superheroes, Secret Wars, Star Brand, Harbinger, Magnus: Robot Fighter, and Solar: Man of the Atom.
