Age of Empires Opening FMV
Remastered in 1080p using ESRGAN [AI Machine Learning]
ESRGAN is an AI Neural Network software that is capable of upscaling and reconstructing
low-resolution images, while retaining most of their elements and details intact.
I took the original video file from the Age of Empires: Gold Edition PC disk, and used ESRGAN with the Manga109 training model to upscale the video 4 times its original resolution.
Age of Empires uses the Indeo Video Interactive 4 codec for its FMVs, which (seems to) have
a low color depth and ordered dithering. As a result, the upscaled footage looks a bit foggy and grainy.

ESRGAN Upscale: 1280x960 → 1440x1080
