Chikin Ha translates to Western Water” in Maya language, as the water in it flows from the west. It is located in a three cenotes park all part of the Ponderosa system: Chikin Ha, X’tabay and Cenote Rainbow. Also named "Half moon cenote", Chikin ha has the form of a undercut ceiling. Divers can spot some very interesting formations: the Siamese dogs rock and the half moon shadow on the wall behind. One of the dive highlights is the "Halocline" - passing through warmer salt water - is at 12 meters depth. Massive roots and plants can also be observed. Divers gently reach the other cenote: Rainbow, while following the permanent line. This dive is considered an advanced one, due to cavern passages and less natural light.
