At 18 years old Sophie Morgan was in a car crash and was instantly paralysed from the waist down. Now a TV presenter, writer, and award-winning disability activist she is clear about how her trauma has shaped a life filled with more gratitude.
Have any of your life experiences made you want to express gratitude?
In this chat with Fearne, Sophie talks about at first feeling as paralysed by fear as she was by her physical body but soon chose to embrace the situation and throw herself into physical challenges that ultimately made her feel more alive. She and Fearne also share an admiration of Freida Kahlo and chat about how art can bring us back to life.
Today, Sophie Morgan is one of the first female TV presenters in the world with a physical disability. Sophie is radically changing the representation of disability on television - most recently joining ITV’s Loose Women as a guest-panellist - she is best known for presenting the London 2012, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
