If you are looking to cook something different, here is an exciting recipe for you - American Chopsuey!!! An Indian rendition of the dish, which has become quite popular in India. Check it!!!
Ingredients required to make American Chop Suey -
For the noodles
1 ltr water
2 tsp salt
1 pkt noodles
1 ½ tbsp corn flour
Oil for frying
For the sauce
¼ cup chilli garlic sauce
¼ cup tomato ketchup
2 tbsp cornstarch
Salt to taste
1 tbsp sugar
½ tsp crushed pepper
½ cup water
2 tsp soy sauce
For the gravy
2 tbsp oil
1 cup cubed chicken breast
Salt & pepper to taste
1 tbsp chopped ginger
1 tbsp chopped garlic
½ cup sliced onions
½ cup sliced yellow pepper
½ cup sliced yellow pepper
½ cup shredded carrots
½ cup diced mushrooms
¼ cup sliced baby corn
1 tbsp spring onions
Other ingredients
Fried omelette
Method to make American Chop Suey -
Boil the noodles in salted water for 8-10 mins till soft & cooked.
Then drain it off & run it in cold water.
Next, add corn flour to the drained noodles & mix well
Heat oil in a kadhai & deep fry the noodles till golden & crisp.
Remove & drain off the noodles.
Now mix all the ingredients for the sauce in a bowl & keep aside.
Next, in a large fry pan, heat oil & fry the chicken along with salt & pepper till it turns brown on all sides.
Add the veggies & stir fry on high heat for 2-3 mins.
Next, add the sauce & bring to a bowl; adjust the seasoning & fish with some spring onions.
To serve, lay the fried noodles on a plate & top with gravy.
Finally, place the fired omelette on top & some spring onions.
