As I understand it, if a state passes a medical aid in dying law two things must happen:
1) a doctor must diagnose a patient is within 6 months of death and
2) psychologists examine the patient and determine that the patient is of sound mind.
In the first article linked below MM survivor and advocate Cherie Rineker is interviewed as a MM survivor who has moved to Colorado to possibly pursue medical aid in dying. Cherie is end stage and is of sound mind.
My problem is diagnosing that a MM survivor is within six months of death.
