What are the early pregnancy signs you are having a boy?
If you are not having morning sickness, the odds of a boy or a girl are about equal. If you were having morning sickness so bad it landed you in the hospital, it is probably a girl.
I’m glad my case is not that bad. But what are the signs you are having a boy?
Genetic testing is pretty conclusive.
It is also pretty expensive.
A sonogram is usually accurate.
You have to wait until you’re around five months along to have an accurate gender determination, and even then, it is wrong around five percent of the time.
If they say you are having a girl because between the legs is flat, it is pretty conclusive. If they say it is a boy in the sonogram, they may have mistaken a hand or awkward floating foot for the critical anatomy.
*I just did not want to wait for a sonogram to find out if I’m having a boy.
If you’re thinking about old wives’ tales, most of them regarding gender are right fifty fifty at best.
Which ones are wrong?
The one where you pee on various household cleaners and look for a specific color are not wrong as much dangerous. The ammonia from the pee plus the drain cleaner or bleach can cause chemical fumes.
I’m not even supposed to take most over the counter meds while pregnant because of the potential risk.
This is more a risk of chemical burns from the outgassing while you’re sitting on the toilet.
And I was embarrassed about my legs being in the stirrup because pregnant; having chemical burns down there is way worse.
Carrying high versus carrying low won’t indicate gender, since the kid does flips until ideally settling head down.
So if I’m carrying high today, I could be carrying low tomorrow.
Or wide tomorrow, because the kid is sideways. A lot of other old wives’ tales about what you crave are just excuses.
My husband craves a boy.
I mean, the stories that you crave chocolate or citrus when carrying a girl versus meat if it is a boy.
Eating a lot of red meat does mean you’re more likely to have a boy, while vegetarianism makes you more likely to have a girl.
That’s based on the diet you had before conception, not what you eat now. And craving dirt or ice while pregnant means you are anemic.
But this is the best time in my life to get anything I want to eat.
Just remember that you’re eating for one point one, not two, though if you’re having a boy, you’re more likely to have a big baby and give birth at 38 weeks once he’s too big.
