Lakewood's International District is a sprouting cultural and business hub, home to a thriving immigrant community. Thousands of commuters frequent this area every day to track down hard-to-find foods and cultural goods.

South Tacoma Way could use some work. Sidewalks are well behind modern standards, lighting is inconsistent, and other repairs need investment. The City of Lakewood is proposing repairs and improvements that will only add fuel to the rocketing growth of the area.
