May 27th and one of the strongest and longest lasting thunderstorm rain down poor's I have ever seen. The only other thing I remember as wet as this, was a swim in the ocean! It started raining HEAVY at about 4pm and lasted until 6pm. Intermittent hail (light) made things look even more interesting. The sewer could not handle the load east of Wetaskiwin and water had no where to escape. So in some places (SEARS, OKTIRE and AlliedDistributors) lakes started forming. I was driving around and splashed through all the deep stuff no problem, however I sadly counted 5 cars that broke down (people that just wanted to drive home from work I assume). Water in the deep spots reached 1 foot and a half (standing water). Wakes formed by fast moving vehicles and splashed up on windscreens of smaller cars (3-4ft!!!!) Who is responsible, the drivers or the city? lol this is gonna stir up trouble :P
