In this video, we make a delicious hibiscus tea. This drink is often chilled and sweetened with sugar due to the tartness of the hibiscus flower. You may also know this tea as Agua de Jamaica.

This tea is straightforward to prepare but will require a fair bit of time to cool down. You can use some ice to help it cool down fast if you need it in a rush.

The ingredients I use in this hibiscus tea recipe are listed below.
2 Tbsp hibiscus flowers
1 Cinnamon Stick
1L (1 qt) water
3 thin slices of ginger
3 Tbsp sugar
The juice of a lime or even orange can really help make this tea recipe shine. I personally enjoy having this with a squeeze of lime.
Hibiscus is quite bitter, so you should probably add a sweetener. I use regular white sugar, but alternatives such as honey, maple syrup, or brown sugar will work nicely.
Agua de Jamaica can also have some aromatics added, such as cardamom pods, star anise, and much more. The best time to add these would be in the steeping process.
