Sure the Elise has the engine from a Celica but the fact that Lotus chose the 2ZZ shows just how good of an engine it really is. The 2ZZ pulls hard all the way to its 8,500 rpm redline. No dips in power or hesitation and also whiling screaming into your left ear.

I wanted to experience the Lotus Elise first hand. I searched across the whole United States and found the perfect one. Driving the Elise gives an unadulterated experience of road feel and connectedness with the car. The steering is immediate and confidence inspiring. You sit in the middle of the car with amazing road visibility. It is truly a special experience to go out for a drive. Mind you, be prepared to have everyone staring at you. Even people that know nothing about cars can tell there is something unique about the Elise.
