When dear and memorable people leave the planet, we don't stop missing them in a few weeks, a few years, ever. Their absence is palpable, as was their singular presence. This one (with more to follow) is in honor of the great, sweetly modest and utterly swinging Murray Wall, creating a beautiful foundation whenever he played. Here he is, with Jon-Erik Kellso, trumpet; Scott Robinson, reeds; Joe Cohn, guitar, on a Thursday night set (January 30, 2020) at Cafe Bohemia on Barrow Street in Greenwich Village, New York. Recorded and presented by Michael Steinman for JAZZ LIVES ([ Ссылка ]).
