The University of Central Lancashire, Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus) is the first overseas University of the UCLan group. Other Universities will follow in Bangkok, Thailand and in Sri Lanka. It opened its doors to students for the first time on 2nd October this year at its new campus, located close to Larnaka, a short distance from the Larnaka/Paralimni A3 highway. The University offers joint UK and Cyprus degree programmes of study, which are joint awards from both UCLan in the UK and UCLan Cyprus. These degrees are recognised by the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and the Ministry of Education and Culture in the Republic of Cyprus, and are also recognised by the Cyprus Council for the Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications (KYSATS).
