Hey guys! In this video, you’ll see the first flights of my newest DLG build. It’s a rather high-aspect ratio, 1-meter glider with 2-channel control. Unfortunately, i seem to have built inadequate dihedral angle into the wings, as the aircraft is not very maneuverable or predictably controllable. Adding ailerons is an option, but something I would rather not do given the aircraft’s small size and limited fuselage space. Shortly following the maiden flight, i added some weight to the bottom of the aircraft in an attempt to lower the center of gravity. This worked rather well, increasing, as well as the aircraft's stability, its launch height and wind penetration. All in all, i would call this a somewhat successful build, and certainly a practical lesson in the repercussions of inadequate dihedral angle.
If you enjoyed the video, a like or subscription is always highly appreciated. Thanks for watching!
