Laparoscopy is a very important tool to find out problem in the uterus and the ovaries, fallopian tubes and the pelvis, when there is inability to conceive naturally over a span of 2 years. Usually there should be pricks in the fallopian tubes or uterus that makes pregnancy difficult. When we do a Laparoscopy, a panoramic view of the entire lower abdominal or pelvis can be seen. A uterus provides fibroids, any swelling of fallopian tubes, any ovarian cysts, infection in the pelvis. When there is endometriosis, where the uterine lignin grows in areas apart from uterus. Apart from that there can be endometrial spots in the surface of the fallopian tubes and this can be made out only with Laparoscopy. Therefore Laparoscopy is called as the gold standard for diagnosis of endometriosis especially when it is in the early stages. Usually when women have polycystic ovaries, where they dont ovulate on their own. In such cases if a Laparoscopic electrosurgical ablation is done, called as LEOS. Reduces the ovarian stromal volume and encourages violation to happen. In endometrioses there can be endometriotic cyst and it has to be removed. In reduced ovarian reserve this cyst has to be drained.
