As of March 1, 2011, the Drug Enforcement Administration has made Spice and its five ingredients illegal in the United States. The ban will last for one year while the DEA determines whether or not the substance needs to be controlled. The Marine Corps and entire Department of Defense has a zero-tolerance policy for Spice.
