Members of the Gentoo, King and Southern Rockhopper penguin flocks in our care recently had appointments with veterinary ophthalmologists from Animal Eye Associates of St. Louis. Just like for humans, overall eye health is important. As penguins age, cataracts and other eye conditions that can affect their vision are commonly seen.
The Zoo often works with specialists in other areas of human and animal medicine to ensure the animals here get the best possible care!
