Why is it that being good at tactics doesn't always mean we catch our own mistakes? Why do we often fail to spot dangerous moves our opponents can make, even when we can easily execute these tactics ourselves? That's what we cover in this video. We talk about how crucial it is to check for blunders and why mastering this process is key to improving your chess game.
To help with this, I've created a course launching by the end of July (The Chess Elevator). It includes exercises to make safer moves and improve these basic skills. By better-spotting threats and blunder-checking your moves, you'll also enhance your ability to recognize tactical patterns like spotting loose pieces, alignments, and forks in your games. This makes it easier to avoid moves that your opponent can easily punish.
