The Lynyrd Skynyrd movie is officially blocked from distribution after the film is nearly finished. All scenes have been shot and it's been in post production but a 30 year old legal agreement between the original members have blocked Street Survivors: The True Story of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash has been hit with a permanent injunction blocking it's distribution indefinitely.

Now, the only way anyone will ever see the Lynyrd Skynyrd movie is if someone involved illegally leaks a copy to the public, which is more than possible given the history of the Lynyrd Skynyrd feud.

It's not all bad news though. Based on what I found about the production of the film, it appears this was going to be a low budget, low talent, disgrace of a movie. It's possible, it could have been a "cult classic" but I doubt it. Taking a look at the director's other work, it looks like this was going to be as low budget as it gets and that the remaining band members didn't want this tragedy to be marked with a bad movie.

It's been 40 years since the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash but based on the results of this case, it seems we'll never see a biopic about this legendary southern rock band.
