Cement Lining of Iron pipe was invented in 1922. It prevents tuberculation and reduces the friction of water flow inside the pipe. The quality of the cement-mortar mix is carefully controlled, and the cement is applied centrifugally while the pipe are spun and vibrated. This ensures a smooth and even final surface. After the cement has cured a sealcoat is applied and the pipe is ready for decades of worry-free service.
